If you're single and you know it, clap your hands.

Let me tell you a little secret, World. If my marital status is always going to depend upon me making the first move, I'm going to be single forever.
Which is also why there is no happy dance posting today.

Why can't boys just figure it out?

  2. I feel you. I'm terrible at making the first move. Almost every date I've been on or relationship I've been on is due to the other guy taking the initiative.

  3. You shouldn't have to.

    Men need to be men.

  4. I am so glad that another woman feels the same. I am so tired of my guy friends telling me that I need to make the first move. I am not going to do their job! Coupled with seeing these certain girls at dances fall ALL OVER guys. It's very sad, actually. I will not be like that.

hmm I see a minefield but what the heck.

First I would ask what do you mean by first move? I fear that you are dealing with "leftover" guys so you are dealing with those of us who are off. We find ourselves like the island of broken toys and we know it so we may not make the first move becasue we dont know how or we are so used to rejection and disappointment that we dont try or because "it" never leads anywhere we ask why bother or perhaps we are too distracted by our toys. It doesnt hurt to snap your fingers (metaphorically speaking) to attract our gaze or create an enviroment to amke it easy or frankly manipulate the situation for the rat to find the cheese. You claim that you will never make the first move. I have sworn off trying, I am 0 and near 700. so if we two are the last people on earth and locked in the same room humanity is going down. There are thing you can do to "prime the pump". I hope that you find the success you desire

  8. Beatles Diva- I know what you mean. I can't leave my little Utah apartment without seeing half a dozen billboards for weddings. (That being said, with so much emphasis on weddings, you would think they would have better reception venues around here.) Not to mention there are laws and regulations that actually punish you for being single.
    So much for equality.

  9. Bitter Dude-
Your comments are always insightful and interesting. I'm curious, have we ever met, or are you a true anonymous lurker? You don't have to tell me who you are. I'm just wondering if we know each other.

As for priming the pump pertaining to the current man in question, I have done everything except lay down across his desk naked and poured chocolate across me to get his attention.

Well, I shouldn't say that. I have his attention. I know he likes me. I know he blushes when he sees me. I know he makes up reasons to see me. I have every reason to believe he's interested. Except for that teeny tiny detail of acting on it and asking me out.

And if it is going to take me asking him out to make something happen, well, he and I will both die old and lonely I suspect.
